【星岛综合报道】卡加利（Calgary）东北区周四（15日）下午发生严重多车连环相撞事故，涉及两辆市巴士及六辆其他车辆，造成三人死亡、十九人受伤，其中一人伤势严重，一名警员亦告轻伤。
警方表示，事故于下午1时后发生在Saddletowne Circle N.E. 800号路段，一辆北行巴士与一辆白色车辆相撞，后者撞上一辆黑色车辆，白色车辆再撞上一辆厢型车，并继续与第二辆巴士碰撞，冲击力将第二辆巴士推过马路，再撞上另外三辆车辆。
碰撞后，其中一辆巴士的车顶迅速被烈火吞噬，浓厚黑烟冲天而起；另一辆巴士前端严重损毁，方向盘被撞飞。附近消防局的消防车迅速赶至扑灭两辆巴士的火势，现场散布大量金属碎片。
急救服务发言人表示，十人被送往不同医院，五人伤势不危及生命，在现场接受治疗后作为预防措施送院。
巴士工会主席Mike Mahar表示，其中一名巴士司机能自行离开车辆，另一名则被困车内须由救援人员协助脱困，送院后情况不明。
卡加利消防局长Steve Dongworth表示，共派出12辆消防车应对火警，其中一辆巴士使用压缩天然气作燃料，市府表示天然气巴士车队将维持正常服务。
卡加利警方资深督察Andy Woodward表示：“我从警36年，这可能是我处理过的最严重的碰撞现场。”事发路段全线封闭，至晚上约6时部分重开。
卡加利市长法卡斯（Jeromy Farkas）在社交媒体表示：“我对这宗悲剧深感心碎，向遇难者家属致以最深切慰问。”.

亚省省长戴思敏（Danielle Smith）新民主党党魁及前卡加利市长Naheed Nenshi亦发表声明，对事件表示悲痛，并向伤亡者家属致哀。
Heartbreaking news out of Calgary this afternoon. A serious collision between two buses has left multiple people dead and many more injured. My sincere thoughts are with the families of those who died and with everyone injured. Our first responders were on scene within minutes and are still working.
