【星岛综合报道】随着夏季来临，满地可市政府宣布，今年夏天将再度推行“步行街”计划，共有7条街道部分路段会封闭予车辆通行，总长度约7公里。
当局表示，今年共有6个行政区参与计划，涉及街道包括 Mont-Royal Avenue、Duluth Avenue、Ontario Street East、Bernard Avenue、Wellington Street、Sainte-Catherine Street East，以及新增的 Villeray Street。
除 Villeray Street 为今年新增外，其余街道去年夏天亦曾实施行人专区安排。
市政府表示，步行化措施将令超过1,260间商户更方便市民步行到访，有助刺激人流及支持本地经济。
满地可市政府负责经济发展及绿色经济的执委 Chantal Gagnon 表示，临时步行街不但可改善城市生活质素，亦有助提升满地可作为户外城市的吸引力。
目前，Sainte-Catherine Street East 及 Bernard Avenue 已率先封路成为行人专区，而 Mont-Royal Avenue 则会于本周四开始实施。
各步行街开放日期如下：
Mont-Royal Avenue（Saint-Laurent 至 Resther）：5月28日至10月12日
Mont-Royal Avenue（Resther 至 De Lorimier）：5月28日至9月7日
Duluth Avenue：6月18日至10月12日
Ontario Street East：6月20日至9月14日
Bernard Avenue：5月23日至9月20日
Wellington Street：6月15日至9月14日
Sainte-Catherine Street East：5月14日至10月12日
Villeray Street：6月18日至8月17日
