【星島都市網】除夕跨年後，大量倒數完的市民滯留多倫多聯合車站（Union Station），數千名市民無法離開車站。
市民Glen Garner向《CP24》表示，當晚的聯合車站完全沒有移動的空間。除夕夜TTC和Metrolinx提供免費乘車，導致數千名市民和遊客湧入車站。

Glen Garner原定乘搭1號線前往Yonge- Eglinton。但由於人潮過於擁擠，他被困兩個半小時後，最終只能登上前往旺市的地鐵去Finch West。
不少市民在社交媒體上分享當天的照片和視頻。影片中可見，不少乘客在地鐵門關閉時嘗試進入。部分樓層陷入癱瘓，大量人群湧入各個出入口。

TTC回應指今年的倒數活動明顯多於上年，人數大量超出TTC的預料，導致交通系統過度擁擠。
「TTC 正在詳細審查昨晚的事件，以更好地了解需要改進的領域，並清楚地闡明吸取的教訓，以改善未來的客戶體驗。」
Metrolinx則回應指，當晚聯合火車站的情況受TTC影響導致候車人數大增。
